Snowfall: temporary Luxembourg airport runway closure

Luxembourg/Liege (red) Due to the temporary closure of Luxembourg airport’s runway caused by significant snowfall, takeoffs and landings had been suspended, leading to disruptions in flight operations. Following exceptional snowfall

during the afternoon of January 08th, 2025, the runway at Findel Airport was temporarily closed. This situation resulted in the suspension of operations, causing flight disruptions.
Some flights had to be diverted to other airports but are back in Luxembourg since the reopening of the runway:
- Porto
- Barcelona
The flights from Nice and Rome had been diverted to Liege, but the worsening of the weather conditions in the area has resulted in the closure of the runway in Liege too, until further notice.
For operational reasons bus transfer to Luxembourg was organized for the passengers coming back from Agadir, which had also landed in Liege.
Some flights departing from Luxembourg have been canceled:
- London
- Vienna
- Porto
- Madrid
Luxair keeps on closely monitoring the situation, ensuring passengers at the airport are taken care of.
Luxair is doing everything possible to minimize disruptions, while prioritizing the safety of its passengers and crews, but in certain cases, unforeseen events may impact operations.
